Default something dont sound right!

my sister is pregnant....she had her period in january and then in february she had another one but only lasted 2 days which isnt normal for her...her first appointment was today and they measured the baby and said she wasnt due till till dec 5th which would make her 6 weeks and 4 days and her conception date march 13 i think well she had went to our health department on march 18th and they did a pregnancy test and it said positive...from what i know it wouldnt show up that early thats only about a week from the conception date...i think the baby is measuring extremly to small...i didnt bring it up to the doctor about when she got the test done and stuff cause she didnt tell me till we got out in the car....i didnt say to much to her cause i dont wanna scare her...but i honestly believe baby is just real small maybe a lil to small for how far along she actually should be....anyone have any helpful information on this??

Sounds like some dates are off. Why not just wait and see in the next few weeks how things progress?

It is possible to get a positive sign that early, but I wouldn't worry to much because when she does the ultra sound that will tell the doctors exactly how far along she is and maybe that period that she got for two days in March wasn't an actual period, some people do spot in early weeks of pregnancy and this can be mistaken for a period.

I don't mean to be the negative one here, but it does sound like the baby is measuring to small. That doesn't necessarily mean something - often times, babies will 'catch up' as the pregnancy continues. My advice would be for you to tell your sister to tell her doctor about the other test, so if it is a concern, they can be aware and monitor her closely.

It does sound like baby is measuring small. But you never know what could happen in a few weeks' time! With Devon, he measured about 4 weeks and a few days at my first ultrasound, and then 8 or 9 days later, which was my second ultrasound, he measured about 8 weeks and a few days. So he "grew" four weeks in just over a weeks' time. Does that make any sense?

You would think that all this stuff would be more accurate, but sometimes it just isn't, ya know? I really, really doubt that her date of conception was March 13th if a regular (and not a blood) test was positive 5 days later on the 18th. That is just almost impossible. I'm sure the docs just used the "average" cycle lenght to calculate those dates, as they always do unless you know your exact dates. Some women O early and some later... I would think that your sister O'd a bit earlier than usual, and conception could have been about a week or more before the 13th.

But who knows!! Only time will tell.
