Default Soooooooooo Tired!!

It is unbelievable how tired I am and the nausea is really starting to set in. I don't remember this from the first time, so I'm welcoming anything different this time around!! I want to take a nap so bad and am stuck at work. Anyone else have to work through the first trimester and how did you make it?

Sorry you aren't feeling so great. Unfortunately that's part of it, and is actually a good sign for your pregnancy. I remember when I was preg with my son and I was working and I don't think I had ever been that tired in my life! It's hard, but try to sleep when you can and take it easy at work. The first trimester is the hardest so hang in there!

Default Sorry to hear

You're are not alone! This is my third pregnancy and it's been harder each time. I'm in my 11th week and still feel nauseous. I can happily say that my energy is finally come back. Give it a few more weeks and I hope that you will be feeling better.

I know that it is perfectly normal to be tired during pregnancy but if you seem overly tired I would get your thyroid checked out. I had a thyroid problem before but it went away. I started to find myself sleeping A LOT during this pregnancy. I know its twins but I was stilll sleeping like 13+ hrs through out the day. I had my levels checked and sure enough this pregnancy has put me back on hypothyroid meds! So if you feel overly tired I would get it checked to be on the safe side cause you never know. Even if you never had a thyroid problem before one can always start! Good luck!

Welcome to your first trimester. I was exhausted for the first 13 weeks, and my m/s lasted from 8 weeks until 18 weeks. I literally would get up, go to work, and then nap until my husband would come home. Once we had dinner, I was almost guaranteed to be asleep within an hour. As for the m /s i barely ate a thing. The funny thing is I only threw up three days, and that was it. The only advice I can give you is to nap/eat every chance you get. One of these days, you'll wake up to realize that you're no longer tired or nauseous. Good luck!

I worked until I was 36 weeks, and trust me there were times where I just wanted to curl up on my desk and sleep!! Try to rest as much as you can when you are home, and remember to eat when you are hungry, if you have m/s eat small meals to keep your energy up. Good luck and I hope you feel better!!

And remember, this is only 9 months of your life to sacrifice for something that will be with you for the rest of your life!

I worked during both of my pregnancies, and there were days I thought I was drugged. I would fall asleep typing. Just rest, you will soon get your energy somewhat back during your second, but the third it goes away again. It is a healthy sign, that means the baby is thrieving in there. Good luck

i have worked all the way through and am planning to work til 37 weeks....the first trimester i felt so tired and was in bed by 7 30pm most nights...and the dinners i made really sucked! we also ate a lot of take out cause i was way too tired to cook....tiredness gone now and now i have trouble sleeping and back aches hip aches etc....and still working...have only had two days bed rest (doctor enforced and then i refused to do more) and have only called in sick one time so am pretty proud of myself for working through...may be calling in sick a little more soon tho...cause am starting to have trouble getting out of bed etc....and find just being off work in weekends does help a lot...
im often found kicking back in my office doing diddly squat for 10 mins just because i can..and dont feel up to doing any work for 10 or so mins! Boss is good and doesnt mind...and have been barefoot in my office too which is great....only shoes on to go out front or see clients! !!!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I didn't work Friday, was sick all weekend, and was off yesterday and today. I may go in later, but I just can't shake this nausea that lasts until midday and then picks back up when I try to go to sleep and then of course I wake up with it. Anyone have any sugguestions for how to keep the nausea at bay?
