Dillsboro, North Carolina.
A wonderfully quaint town which is the starting point of the Smokey Mountain Railroad ride. Traveling on the steam engine train through the Great Smokey Mountains is quite the site, especially during the fall season while the leaves change. We stayed at the Dillsboro Inn, a quiet spot on the outskirt of the town. Directly beside the Inn is a wonderful river fall which in the summer is a beautiful sound to sleep to.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Whether you rent a chalet/cabin off of the beaten path or if you stay downtown, there's romance and fun to experience. Romantic for Mom & Dad or exciting for the kids, there's a little something for everyone.

It's called the White Country and the best time of the year to visit is during Oktoberfest! The town is alive and so many wonderful shops!

We have been to Dillsboro, NC and to Gatlinburg.
We went on our honeymoon to Gatlinburg and have been back
many times since.
As a family, we have always had our photo taken at the park
entrance with the big wooden and stone built sign.

One time when the boys were young, we were having the photo taken by DH.
Another car drives by, rolling down their window and yelling to us.....

She heard, "Run for your car! Save your babies! There is a bear right behind you!"
He heard, "Stop taking a picture of your family! Go get a photo of the bear! Run after the bear and get its picture!"

Which do you think the family really yelled at us as a warning? *giggles*

I love the Smokey Mountains! There's quite a few other places in the general area that I'm really excited to experience. Dillsboro has to be my favorite so far!

And PLEASE tell me it's what HE heard and not what SHE heard!!
