Question Help with Food City?

I posted this on the wrong thread earlier.

I was a loyal BiLo-er and haven't set foot in the new Food City yet. But I was looking at their ad in today's paper and it's not too bad.. has anyone posted the highlights yet? I did notice they have Fresh Express salads buy one get two free, and I have a lot of 55¢ coupons I got off eBay that would make them very inexpensive. Do they double coupons? If their prices are that good I guess it's not necessary.

Help me out with Food City!!

Sara,

Food City does not double coupons, but they do have good deals sometimes. Honestly, I do my normal shopping there and then cherry pick the other stores, Ingles & Krogers, for their specials & double coupon deals.
In general I always felt Bi-Lo was higher in prices, sometimes even with doubles, than Food City generally is.

Good Luck and if you see any great deals don't forget to post them.

Ok, since you asked for it.

I finally stopped at the new Food City formerly BiLo and found it to be clean and well-organized and several of my favorite cashiers are still there. It’s totally clean! (how long with *that* last) Love the new shopping carts and check-outs! The Fresh Express salad comes out to 99¢ a bag with the buy1get2 deal, and I used 3 coupons making it about $1.50 for all 3 !

Here is what I got:
1 Food City Milk, $3.99 (free with store coupon)
1 bogo Breyers Ice cream, $2.59 (-55¢ coupon)
3 Fresh Express Salads, $.99 each (-3 55¢ coupons)
2 boxes of strawberries, bogo, $3.98

Original total $14.14 (sale prices)
Coupons $6.19
Paid $7.95 including tax

I will probably use Food City for supplemental shopping like I do Ingles, SuperTarget, Walmart.
Otherwise I’ll be shopping @ Kroger.
