Unhappy special needs verbal 11-year-old

I work with a verbal, semi-defiant special needs girls. She has other issues (fears-ocd). Her mother would like me to research the latest news or specialist on dyslexia. This little girl cannot learn the alphabet nor can she read. Where can I please seek help? lisa

If you haven't checked with the state education or health services than I would start there. Each state has their own programs for children or adults who have disabilities. If not the state than the federal government will have those programs available.

Welcome to the board!

Am thinking that the school district that she attends is responsible for providing her the special learning she needs.
Need to investigate through the school district
and talk with her physician.

Wishing you all the best!
