Arrow St. John's Wort???

Has anyone ever tried this, and if so, did it work for you?

I have not tried it, but I hear that it needs to be taken 3 times a day for full effectiveness. It is a self pay item. Insurance does not cover it.

There are other alternatives that a physician could prescribe,
and perhaps the health insurance could cover the cost of the medication.

There are two problems with St Johns Wort.

One is that it really is an antidepressant - and in some people could really be a problem for self medicating.

The second is that it makes you more sensitive to the sun, so if you are using it, you should be extra careful to wear a sunscreen all the time.

Thanks, Ladies.
I had no idea that it makes you more sensitive to the sun! Wow. We spend a lot of time at the beach, and in the pool. I always wear sunscreen anyway, but now I'll be extra careful.
I've been feeling a little blue for a while, and thought I'd give it a try, and see if it helps to perk me up a little. Someone else also suggested a vitamin B complex for the blues. If this does not work for me...maybe I'll give that a shot.
I don't want to go to the doctor about it yet. It's not that bad. Just a little blue, and I don't want to be placed on a medication right now.

Make sure that if you take it you consult your doctor first.

Florida, EFA supplements can help too. Our food supply is largely deficient in the essential fats - the ones your body can't produce. You can get them at any health food store. 1-2 tbs per 55 lbs of body weight per day, spread throughout the day.... I hope you are feeling better soon!

I would reccomend mangosteen- an amazing cousin to St. John's Wort. I could swear by it for any health issue you could ever have. I won't let myself go into too much detail but check out insidemangosteen.com and start your research from there. There is a product out there called Xango and it's a great natural way to any holistic health need. If you don't like it you get your money back too. Check the website and links on the website or contact me for more info!
