I was given a St Jude Novena a while ago. St Jude is one of Jesus' disciples and is the patron Saint of the helpless and hopeless. Apparantly, your prayer may not be granted immediately in all cases, and in some cases it may be granted in a different form. However, it is said that, if you believe and you are patient, your prayer is always answered.
I have tried this Novena several times for various circumstances and it has always worked. I published the Novena by sending it to my friends. I was wondering whether other people have used this Novena and, if so, what results they obtained. The Novena is below, in the form it was given to me.
St Jude Novena
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved throughout the world now and forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us. St Jude, help of the hopeless, pray for us.
Say this prayer for 9 days. By the 8th day your prayer will be answered. It has never failed. Publication must be promised. Thank you Jesus.

I moved this from introductions to the Catholic section. Most folks who are not Catholic will have no idea what you are talking about.

I've seen these ads in newspapers, and I don't know what the deal is, but people feel they have to post things to St. Jude in print - so for what it is worth, consider it posted. I sure do not want to have a steady string of thanks for favors granted showing up here though, at least not without an explanation of what is the idea behind it.

I have prayed to St. Jude in my desperate times for 14 years and yes, it does work. It's not magic, it's prayer, and it becomes meditative as well, bringing a sense of peace and time to thoroughly think through what is happening in your life And had I not seen in my local newspaper, I wouldn't have known about it, even though I am Catholic. I also know that non-Catholic Christians have seen it in newspapers and used it. The whole reason for publishing the novena prayer or even just the thanks to St. Jude is to give more people the opportunity to learn about it.

Yes it does truly work. St Jude has helped me in so many ways through interceding to God. He has ensured the safe and quick arrival of my payment made overseas where i sent a bank draft and the delivery of my parcel too. He has also helped me overcome my recent fear of presenting in front of the whole class ever since i messed up previously stumbling over my words, forgetting my lines and going blank in front of everyone, which also resulted in a C grade. However, after that presentation, another one came along and fearing the same things would happen, i prayed to him to intercede to God to let that upcoming presentation be well and to give me back my confidence. In the end, not only had i presented loudly, clearly and fluently, but also my confidence came back and my friend and his friends even said i did so professionally. Most important of all, i did not even get nervous, stumbled over my words nor blanked out! St Jude has also helped me get closer to my classmates by giving us opportunities to build our friendship.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Gloria:
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

I agree that the novena to St. Jude is indeed effective. But let all be remindedthat God answers our prayers 'in His own time.' He has a reason for eveything.

I believe that St Jude Novena works. But I think we all have to be patient. I am not sure what God has planned for my family but I know that I need to have faith and trust in him. We are saying the Novena to St Jude and asking him to help my husband so that he doesnt lose his job. Our whole family says it every night, and I think it is good for the kids to see our struggles and our faith in prayer and God. We say the following Novena.
