Question stage 2 foods?

Its so funny how I have a 2 year old and cant remember how I did anything!

Kaydee started getting cereal in her bottle at one month (reflux). When she hit the 4 month mark i started feeding her the cereal off a spoon. She did great. Then, we started adding little amounts of jar foods to the cereal: bananas in the AM, peas and carrots in the PM. She LOVED every food we tried. Her reflux also disapeared!

Its been about 2 weeks now and the girl is a PIG! For example, last night i was pouring out mixed grain cereal, and it came out really fast. So i decided to mix an entire jar of carrots in, feed her what she would eat, then put the rest in the jar and save it for the next night. usually when she is done she wont open her mouth anymore and will turn her head away, or start spitting it back out. Well, she ate every bit of it, and was still crying to eat! I had about a 1/4 jar of bananas leftover from breakfast, so i fed her that. She ate that in a flash! She then drank 2 oz of her bottle (still with rice cereal added in) and was finally content!

it seems like there just isnt enough food in the stage 1 jars, so can I move on to stage 2? The ped said to wait awhile before i add in any meats, so i can just get the stage 2 fruits/veggies.Any ideas on the differences in the stages other then size?

Beechnut stage 2 is the same as stage 1 but with an extra 2oz. I would ONLY give fruits and veggies. Dont give the kind that have more than one veggie/fruit in them. Also read the back label b/c some stage 2 stuff has milk in it. You could always just give her two stage 1 jars. We didnt start stage 2 until 5.5 months. As for meats and dairy Nevy was now just given the ok and thats only 3x's a week. I say just buy the same stage 1 stuff in stage two and try not to be tempted by the "mixs" of stuff. Most of them contain fruit juice(which for her right now is a big no no)!

i mix in the veggies and fruit because she woulndt eat the jar food alone, it was too runny for her and i guess she didnt like the texture. my oldest DD was the same way. Until i moved her onto the higher stages she always had it mixed in w/ cereal. They sell cereal w/ stuff in it already, but my oldest didnt like it.

Thanks for all the help! I have a ton of stage 1 food, so Im gonna finish those out and then move on to stage 2. She should be almost 6 months by the time its all gone so it will work out. For now she's gonna have to deal with small amounts haha
