Hello
I'm a 20 year old medical student from Australia.
I have decided that today is the start of a very slightly different new me...what is different about me...well at the moment nothing but hopefully in the coming months I'll be getting my body back and regaining my confidence. I put on about 10 kgs in the past year since I met my boyfriend (he's a wonderful cook) and since then I've changed so much, I've lost self confidence, I hide away from people, I stopped dressing well and I just don't believe my boyfriend when he says he's attracted to me and finds me beautiful etc, I was very depressed a couple of months.
Now I've decided I'll actually do something about it and take some small steps to actually make something happen as opposed to me always moaning about needing to lose weight and driving my boyfriend mad and sad!
I am currently on Day 7 of the lemon detox diet which I started with my boyfriend even though he really doesn't need to lose weight but hey I'm grateful he's trying to support me.
The lemon detox diet (or called the master cleanse)
http://healthandlight.com/TheMasterCleanse.pdf - this is the ebook with full guidelines on how to do the diet is basically fasting for 5, 7, 10, 14 or 20 (however many days you choose to do it for) days, and during that time you drink only a drink you make up with 2tablespoons of maple syrup, 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice, a pinch of ginger (or cayenne pepper which i DO not recommend) and fill up the glass with water. Drink 6 - 8 glasses of it a day and water if you want. At night you are supposed to drink a herbal laxative tea and in the morning you are supposed to drink this disgusting salt water flush and LOTS of it...2 teaspoons of sea salt with over 1 litre of water...trust me that reallllly does FLUSH everything out...
I personally haven't lost too much weight with it at all a max of less than 2 kgs which I think is just water weight anyway and I'm scared I'll put back even more.
However my boyfriend has lost about 6 - 7 kgs in just 5 or 6 days! He's very lean as it is - stupid lucky guy! oh but how i love him!
I unfortunately can't say I have stayed faithful to the detox for the 7 days...yesterday after my boyfriend left to Sydney for the weekend I caved...and ate a quarter of a meat pie and later on in the evening a small pack of crisps!!! Felt so bad that I broke it when my boyfriend had been trying to help me that I decided I will make an effort and not binge as soon as I'm off this diet...I'll try and make a healthy lifestyle change...no more atkins diet, no more random fads...just cut portions, don't eat junk food and exercise.
I also joined the gym yesterday and worked out for 30 mins. -- see I'm TRYING to make up for it! It was so hard to keep working out, I'm so out of shape
Ok, here's the deal...
I'm 4 foot 10 or 147 cm
I started off 7 days ago as
62.5 kg (137.5 pounds) which is enormous for me cos I'm so short.
When I met my boyfriend in April last year I was 52 kg - that very small for me.
My usual weight (I'm always on the chubby side) is about 55kg.
therefore my goal is to get back down to about 55 or 56 kg (121 or 123 pounds)
Yesterday (BEFORE) I cracked and broke the detox diet, I weighed 60 kg.
I have a total of about 5 kg (11 pounds) to lose. hopefully I'll be able to keep going and lose about 8 kg (17 pounds)
I am currently an australian size 12, I need to get back to being a comfortable size 10, tight size 8!
My biggest thing is that I want to lose the massive potbelly I've acquired!...too much alcohol!
I'm going to the states to visit my cousins in December and I DO NOT want to be fat when I see them cos one of my cousins is my age and incredibly slim and tall (she USED to be fatter than ME!).
How horrible that what you put on in a matter of a few weeks or months takes double or triple the time to lose again...IF it is possible to lose it.
In my experience I have never lost weight when I have actually tried to...just randomly lost weight a couple of times when all I had been eating was JUNK FOOD and junk food ONLY! where is the sense in that?!
Because I'm so short, any slight changes in weight is very noticeable...I mean last year unknowingly going from 56 to 53 kg made a HUGE difference and I actually looked not chubby.
However I'm not trying to be skinny, I'm short and VERY curvy in the womanly parts if you get my gist so just back down to 55 or 56 kg actually looks good on me
I'm so unorganised and all over the place that I'm hoping this will help me get some routine back into my life, meaning study more (I'm a medical student...Don't want to be a fat doctor telling people to lose weight!), be more neat, more exercise and balanced diet.
I'm figuring that if I need to lose 5 - 6 kgs and I lose it on an average of 1 kg in 2 weeks, that will take about 10-12 weeks, giving myself the slow and steady option I'll say 12 weeks...
therefore my target goal weight should be reached between 14th October 07, and at the latest on the 28th October 07.
love love
