Hello Alabamarose! Welcome to our site Glad to have you here.

I'm Lessly..Mod for this area..I am a SAHM and I love it as well. I also worked when my oldest was little. I hope that by staying at home now I will be a positive influence for my boys.

If money weren't an issue I would stay at home!!!!
I am lucky to have a great "job" where I only work part time, and my husband is home when I have to work, so no day care. (that would be expensive!!!!) I am a piano teacher, so it really doesnt' feel like work. And I could bring her with me to lessons. And I did all summer. She got to meet so many people. She loved all the kids!!!! But once she starts crawling it will be too much trouble to bring her. And she will just stay with daddy.
I would love to find a way to make good money at home. The hard thing is that dh would like to change careers too, so we are not sure what to do next.....I do like my job, but once we have more babies I would love to just stay home with them!

My DH can pay all the bills with his checks and we will have enough to survive. But with me not working we wont be able to go out to eat or go to the movies like we do now. I think it is more important to go without those little things that really dont matter to be able to enjoy the special little things that I could miss had I been at work
That was my situation exactly... I felt it was more important for me to be home and be mom. Money is really tight, but it is so worth it. My daughter just started kindergarten. She is having a tough time so now I am feeling guilty that I didn't send her to preschool. I just felt that she would be in school long enough and how long really do we have with them to start them out right in the world?! Those five years went by fast!!! But now the guilt.

I am pretty much a SAHM with my 16 month old son. I do work on Saturdays in the rehab dept of our local hospital, but my husband takes care of our little one. I am fortunate to work in healthcare where I have these work options. I do love staying home with Nick and watching him eat, talk, and walk but it is also nice to "contribute" financially and interact with other adults. I'm new to the forum .

I have been a stay at home mom for 3 years, money became and issues, so i started to get my friends kids off the bus for them, i only make like 150 a week from that, and it is alot of work to have a total of 7 kids here, but it lets us do the things we want to do without me leaving the kids, pic of advice for anyone considering to stay home: make time for YOU! take 1 night a week to LEAVE the house, we cant afford for me to "go out" so i go to a close friends house for coffee one night a week just to take a break from being a mom and a house wife, it keeps me sane!
I have kids that come home for lunch and after school and i agree you need at least one night for yourself!!

I love being home with my kids. If money were no problem, I would probably hire a little help. This way, I could spend more individual time with my kids and take each of them on special adventures just for them.

I worked outside of the home for about 10 years before I decided to leave my job to be a stay at home mom. I have been at home for about 2 years now and I LOVE IT! I had a great career and loved my job but I missed my kids sooo much. My husband was a stay at home dad and so now we have switched Financially it was (is) very difficult but I try to supplement our income with eBay and selling online. I always thought that I would never enjoy staying at home and would swear up and down that I would never do it, but now I will stay home until my children are grown, if I can....
