Staying fit.....?
There isnt much said and done about fitness in here, so let me start something which could make some interesting and informative reading with the help of your inputs.
A good health is a result of a fit body and that goes for every one at every age.
Do you like the way your body is ? Or would you like to change it for better shape or better health.
If you do want a change, it does nt happen without an effort. So what do u do to keep fit?
Hit the gym, go for walks, yoga, aerobics, dance, sports, or just the daily chores.
And if you dont do much, what keeps you away from your fitness goals?
Your daily routine, lack of time, health issues or something else..
Looking for your thoughts and ideas....

I agree. Every little helps. Although working out 4 times a week intensively is best for your health, little and often works too. You will not win any medals, but keeping active will mean keeping your heart a little healthier, and every little helps.
There is always time to do something, even if it just a short walk at lunch time, or walking up a few flights of stairs instead of taking the lift. As Nike say, Just Do It!

Yes, we like to keep fit in our family. I walk with my 7 year old daughter and one year old son (in the pram) to school, 5 days a week, twice a day, half an hour each way. Which means, I get two hours a day and miss 7 gets one hour a day. It is wonderful to be out in the great outdoors

I would like to run. Last spring/summer/fall, I ran nearly every day. Now, I can't because I'm working full time. I'm not a morning person, and when I get home it's dark.
I'm hoping after the time changes and it's lighter longer I'll be able to run after work again. As it is, I do have a treadmill, but I have to force myself to do a 15-minute mile on it 2 times a week. I HATE the treadmill.

I do like I try to keep as fit as I can, but recently I have had less time to run and exercise in general so I have put a small amount of weight on my stomach. Which needs to go fast as it is not healthy.
If you do want a change, it does nt happen without an effort. So what do u do to keep fit? I run everyday with the dog for around half an hour, sometimes more if I'm being a bit slow. Then on tuesdays and thursdays my working day finished at 2:15 so I use the school gym for an hour or so, I like the rowing machine the most out of all the equipment, but I make sure everything is trained equally. Then there are just walks with the dog which is about two hours a day in total. Then there is what I called personal exercise, very enjoyable and it burns alot of calories and you don't even have to leave your bedroom.

I love to swim. Many moons ago I was a competitive swimmer.I am a member of a gymn but I only use the pool.My husband uses the gymn regularly and does speed running on our home treadmill for 30 minutes per day, when his work schedule allows it. I also use our treadmill, at least once or twice a week, but I don't like it. My family are all sporty and generally love to keep fit, not for reasons of vanity,it just makes you feel better.

I walk everywhere, use an exercise bike, do some simple exercises on a mat, and use some dumbells. I can't afford to go to a proper gym, but have gradually built up a home gym (also have a rower and some other bits and bobs) - I work out for vanity as well as health (I want to get nice 'model abs'!)

My daughter and I go to the gym at least 4 times a week and walk. I love doing the exercise classes and it's great to do these with my daughter. She also comes in handy when you roll you ankle during a step class and need to go to the emergency room. I should be off crutches this week and back to the gym in a couple of weeks.

for a start, if you were anorexic, you wouldn't have ANY muscles, if you had any 'meat' on you, it'd be fat, because with anorexics their muscles waste away really fast whereas fat takes longer to go!
so ensure you're eating LOTS of protein!! like meat, fish, milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, or if you're veggie/vegan- peanut butter, tofu, chick peas, beans, lentils, peas, spinach. this will 'feed' your muscles and give them energy to renew themselves, as well as helping them get stronger.
