Strange Bleeding
I know that this postpartum forum is for 0-6 weeks after, and I'm 8 weeks after, but I didn't know where else to post! Anyway, I stopped bleeded at about 6 weeks pp (two weeks ago), and then a few days ago I started bleeding again. I thought it was my period, but it was so light and it was mixed with a ton of goopy stuff, almost like a mucus plug! It was strange. It was more like clear discharge mixed with a little blood. I am breastfeeding, so I thought it was strange, but then again, we do a little formula every now and then, and thought that might be why I was getting my 'period' so soon. Now I'm not so sure it was my period. I bled for about a day or two, then stopped for a couple, and now today I am having the light bleeding again. Now here is the part that makes me wonder if it's my period (you may want to stop reading here!!!) I put in a tampon and there was a little blood on the tampon once, but then I changed it, and when I took out the second one there was no blood on the tampon,but there was in my underwear. The bleeding was coming from the.. uhh.. wrong hole?? I noticed when I wiped 'back there' after going to the bathroom that there was blood a couple of times, but didn't really think much of it, until now. I know this post is really all over the place and hard to follow, but hopefully you get the picture! Anyone else experience bleeding from the wrong place?? And also goopy clear discharge bleeding?

Well...I am assuming you don't have sex in that hole.........If that is the case I would def talk to a doctor about it. It could be a sign of all sorts of things or just....ya know sometimes you get a tear occasionally.
I really dont' have any experiance with it though...so I hope someone else can reassure you and make you feel better.

i did the star/stop bleeding thing for 9 weeks after Kaydee...so we are in the same boat on that one. I was told an strenuous activity (which includes more walking then usual, etc>) would bring on the bleeding again. Are you uncomfortable around the other place? You may have hemorrhoids which are also very common from pushing. Or, like Kara said you could have a small tear. I would stay away from tampons for a little longer...i know its not fun, but it will be better in case of any infections

After reading, I immediately thought hemorroid also. I have had them before, but never very severe, and certainly not with goopy stuff. Just blood, and it was done in a day or so.
Wouldn't hurt to call a nurse line and ask. We have a great nurse line with our insurance company, I call them for all sorts of silly things.

That was my first thought too, hemroids. I have had them bleed in the past too especially after having a baby and being constipate(oh fun!)
It wouldn't hurt calling the doctor or nurse line just to be sure.

TMI but i had that goopy stuff from *that* hole after having Gabby but no blood... it seems that the goopy stuff was linked to being constipated... i'm thinking tear or hemorroids too, but you really should check with a dr just in case

Yeah I am going to make my 8 week postpartum check up for either Tuesday or Wednesday this coming week. I should have made it for this past week, but kept putting it off! Anyway, the goopy stuff mixed with blood is what comes from the "correct hole" and the bright red blood alone is what comes from the "wrong hole". But a while back I was having the strange goopy stuff by itself coming from the "wrong hole" but didn't think much of it. (Why do I feel so uncomfortable talking about these holes??? LoL!) Anyway, I never thought of hemorroids.. that could be it! I will have to see at my appointment. I just thought this whole bleeding thing, no matter what hole it's coming from, is really crazy! With Alex, I just stopped bleeding one day and that was that. I didn't think I should be getting my period so soon, since I BF. But then I thought that maybe it was because there are a few times a week when he takes formula instead of boob.
Anyway, thanks for the advice ladies!

the bright red blood definately sounds like hemorroids, it's possible that the first bleed was indeed AF or maybe even ovulation (if it was more like spotting than a bleed)... although i bleed than stopped for a day or so than bleed again for another few days
