Talking Success!!!!

After waiting a week and a half, DH and I figured we were really and truly ready to go at potty training and not look back at all. A week ago today we put Heike into underwear and it has gone so well! The first day, nothing got in the potty, but we were so calm about it, she stayed calm, too.

Then, on Thursday, it clicked! She started saying that she felt the pee coming, and we're doing so well! Maximum one accident each day since, and she's even staying dry through the night.

We want to thank everyone for their advice, and we just wanted to share that we're pretty well potty trained now!

Wink To my utter surprise...

So, Heike FINALLY had her first accident-free day, today. It was so wonderful! We made a big deal of it and she was pretty proud of herself.

Meanwhile, Amber has decided that at 19 months, she's also going to start using the potty. She has peed in the potty four times since Thursday! I just about died when she did it the first time. Who knows? She might potty train herself! Talk about wanting to be like your older sister!

Good for you, letting them figure it out on their own with a little guidance from you. It's obviously working. No tears, no fights. They WANT to go in the potty! Great Job!! All of you!

It's such a relief when they finally "get it". Things are continuing to go well for us. Glad to hear that many of you are experiencing success as well!
