Question summer camps

do any of you have any advice on summer camps to send the kiddos?

has anyone checked out the busch gardens / seaworld Adventure Camps? the opportunities kids have these days are crazy! one of the coolest sounding camps i've seen, working and helping take care of all the animals they have at the parks.

anyone have any other good suggestions? different types of camps, any other interesting ones?

Default Science Adventures

I'm not sure where you are located, but my kids are going to Science Adventures camps this summer. I'm in Colorado, but they have camps in several states. Depending on the camp the kids build walking robots, build and launch rockets, etc. so it is a good mix of fun and learning. Plus the price is pretty mid-range. The Seaworld camps sound fun, but usually those types of camps are super expensive.

Well, the Adventure Camps site has all the prices on there - so the price varies, depending on what you're looking for. They have sleepover, day, group, and resident camps, so they have a good match for whatever you're looking for (especially if your child loves animals). Thanks for your suggestion!

Not big but local

They have a new program this year, new education director, and it is wildly popular with local families, affordable too.

Website is not current but if you are in the area and you call them they will tell you about their summer camp.

They just finished their first fundraising race, the Sunset Stampede - very well attended, and the kids had a one mile fun run too. Like I said, very family friendly. And its nice to be with people who love animals.

The Busch Gardens/Seaworld Adventures Camps sounds like fun, maybe next year. I'm sending my son to Computer Camp this summer at Bryn Mawr College. This is going to be his second year and he's looking forward to it. The Camp is called Giant Campus and they run camps across country, check them out www.giantcampus.com.

has anyone has any trouble paying for summer camps at all this year? I know YMCA offers a good deal, but are there any others? Has anyone stopped sending their kids all together?
