If you're like us the kids seemed to have a gazillon toys, etc. So, we asked our parents that instead of buying that kind of stuff for birthdays and Christmas to buy them a savings bond instead. So, now the majority of their gift is put into a bond (for college) and sometimes they'll give them a little gift also. Because as my Mom said....we want to give some good stuff too. Ha.
