they are now calling it a pandemic. people don't panic just do what you would normally do if it was flu season.

I do not know what to believe about this swine flu ordeal. I traveled to Mexico a few weeks ago and everyone at the airport and around town are wearing the masks, they made me put one on as well. As I was there I did worry and even tried to find Tamiflu but all pharmacies were out of stock. I am still concerned and want to take precautions but it seems as if Tamiflu is harder to get that ever.
Does anyone know where it can be bought?

Tamiflu is only available by prescription, and you'll only get that if you're found to have the flu. The real flu, not sniffles and sneezes. Me, I'm not worried about it...no more than I am about any other flu out there. Every year there are new strains of flu, and our vaccinations only protect us from about 5 or 6 strands of it. The flu is yucky-I've had it (not the swine one) and I honestly thought I was gonna die. I was sent to the dr's bathroom to get a urine sample, only I didn't quite have to go yet. I had no strength to hold myself up and I actually laid down on the bathroom floor while I waited for the ability to get a sample for the dr. That's being sick. In any event, I'd worry if any one of us got ANY of the flu 'flavors'. But I'm not more worried just because a newer 'breed' is out there.

well more people have died because of the swine flu but in these cases the persons had pre-existing illnesses. I am not to worried about the swine flu i am treating it like any other flu. People remember to sanitize.

Something like 35,000 people die a year from the flu...it's nothing new and this one isn't worse...not yet anyway. Almost everyone who dies from the flu has a pre-existing something, or they're really, really young or old.

Well just to be safe I ordered some tamiflu, I read an article on this site that pointed out a pharmacy that still had it in stock, just waiting for it to arrive so I will keep everyone informed

If you take tamilflu when you don't actually need it, it just gives you a very very bad case of the flu, enjoy!

Too funny Samual.
As far as getting the Tamiflu, I don't blame you for getting it cuz you are worried, but maybe you shouldn't take it.....just have it for "IF" you need it. And hopefully you won't need it.
I think that the media has once again made a big deal out of something before it became a big deal. Hopefully it won't be as bad as they say. So far so good right?

Only going to take it if I really need it. Not taking it just to prevent. I just want to be prepared if it does happen

My sons school was shut Tuesday because of 3 children, in my sons form have been diagnosed with swine flu.. they dosed all the teachers and pupils with a ten day supply of Tamiflu and shut the school! I actually think its daft, if we gonna get it, we will get it! Why shut a whole school down?
Yes people have died, but did you know that cases i have came across of people dying with Alledged 'Swine Flu' were not in fact due to Swine flu..
There is always something people panic about, i take it this is the latest 'fad' ... I do sympathise with those who have had swine flu, but surely in the past, these other epedemics have eventually passed... (that was told me by a NHS nurse at my sons school) Its only if, when the weather gets colder and the flu mutates then thats the time to worry. I have an 80 year old elderly father here in my home, im not sat worrying about swine flu.. yes i dont want my dad to get it, but then i wouldnt want him to get chicken pox or measles either...
