Default The ABS Diet: David Zinczenko

I usually don't read any diet books, but this one I couldn't put down.

It's not a 'diet' book, but whole new way of living. I lost 15 pounds just from following the exercises in the book, doing cardio, and changing the way I eat. Those 15 lbs were from my college years that I never lost. I'm now down to my usual weight.

If you want to lose your tummy's - this is the book for you!!! It tells you how to eat and gives recipes for eating. You may be spending more $$ to eat healthier, but it's worth it if your body benefits from it.

Anyone else follow this new way of living?

I am sure the advice given in the ABS Diet book is sound advice, but I would really be surprised if it is really any different from any other diet / exercise regime for weight loss.

You say "just from following the exercises in the book, doing cardio, and changing the way I eat" - but this is what every other health and fitness regime involves - eating healthily, and exercising more.

It has been proved many times that spot reduction, i.e. reducing the amount on fat on a particular body part, is not possible. So really to call it an Ab diet is a bit misleading. You could just as easily rebrand it as a BIC diet and include some extra bicep curls.

However, saying all that, well done to sticking with a new health and fitness lifestyle. A healthy diet and regular exercise is all that we need to keep fit and healthy. Think of the book as merely pointing you in the right direction, and putting you onto a path to a better life.

Cheers,

Jon.

Default Congrats Jon!

I wrote about the Abs Diet in the Fitness Blog and I've incorporated several parts of the diet into my regular eating habits and routines. The smoothies are a great way to start off the day because I don't like to eat food very early. Congrats on your success!

Hi everyone. Just to let you know, my boyfriend absolutely loves this book. He lost 10 lbs in about 2 weeks. He looks and feels great!!!. Tried to get me to do it but I lost about 1 lb in 1 week. I got very discouraged and ended it right there. So why is it that losing weight for women is not as easy as it is for men? God knows i eat healthy foods and i exercise 3-4 times a week, and I am still at the same wight. 2 years ago I was 10 lbs lighter than i am today and i have done nothing out of the ordinary that would me make me gain weight. If anything i eat helathier and less now than i did when i was thinner. Can anyone help? Why cant i lose this weight? what am i doing wrong? thanks!

Just saw a piece on this book with the author on The Today Show this am. Really no new info for me. If you eat well~ a mix of healthy carbs, lean proteins... and exercise reguarily of course- except if there is an underlying problem- you will lose weight. No brainer really. I agree with Jon~ you can't choose where the fat will come off first and with women, especially me, the belly is stubborn! May I say though that if women have hormonal issues this will really be a persistent issue~ weight gain and stubborn fat because estrogen is stored in fat cells~ so controlling your hormones will help in reducing belly fat. I use a natural progesterone cream and it had been miraculous in stabilizing my hormones~ PMS, mood swings, irritability, fatigue..... on & on. Since I started using the cream I have been able to begin and stick to a much healthier lifestyle~ exercise and eating choices~ I feel more in control than ever before.

Agreed Fitmama . Its about the diet and exercise. If you are consistent in both you will get the results for sure.
