The DH is ill and acting like a child!!!
Why is it when men get sick it's the end of the world? it automatically voids them from all responsibility * *
My DH hardly ever gets sick but when he does, he gets it good!

My dh is sick too. Just happend today. I've been sick for 3 weeks but for some reason he gets sick and is sick for just one day and the world is ending (just like yours) He does have a really high fever (103.9 F) and a cough but other than that he seems ok...but you'd think he was dying. Worries me but what exactly am I (also sick) supposed to do about it?

it's sick season. we're all sick here too. thankfully izzy's just got the sniffles. i had the shakes really bad last night. this is the worst cold i've ever had (that includes when i had mono in high school). My DH won't hold izzy because "i'll get her sick" meanwhile i have it worse than any of us! lol. men are the biggest babies.

My DH is just like that too. He lays around acting like he has the worst cold in the history of the world. Thankfully he typically gets better in a day or two.

I feel for you all and have been there all week but its been my father who was sick all week. My husband would rather be left alone when he is sick and as long as I do that he will tend to himself

What gets me is how being sick absolves them of all parenting responsibilites during the time of the illness, whereas when we're sick things just have to go on as normal.
Last fall we all had some sort of stomach bug. DS had some projectile vomitting/explosive diahrrea thing. A couple days later I was throwing up all day and all night. About 12 hours after I got "the crud" DH got it. He took 2 days off of work and didn't get out of bed all day. (Oh yeah, and he never actually threw up--just felt "sick"). Meanwhile, I was still reeling from not having kept anything down in two days and chasing after our (then) 13 month old who was just starting to get his "legs"!!

Yes, that is the difference between mommies and daddies.

Oh gosh mine does this to! The last time he got sick Nevy was 6 weeks old. He calls me into the bedroom (mind you I have a 6 week old baby to take care of) and goes "can you make me some chicky soup" He said it like a 3 year old!! Who in God's name says "chicky soup" after the age of 3??? So I made him his "chicky soup". Then he says "will you tuck me in?" God save me I almost slapped him! I love my husband to death but when he is sick I want to hurt him sooooo bad! I dont play mommy for no one but Nevy! I'm lucky if he'll let me sleep in when I'm sick let alone get soup! Men are such babies! Thats why they cant give birth b/c none of them could take the pain!!!

ok... as a Dad and DH let me give a little insight as seen from this side of the fence (so to speak)...
99% of the time we feel good. No aches and pains.. none of the things that women go through each month so from our experiences getting sick is a big deal. A rare occurance. In general, we barely notice the 4" cut down our leg or the scraped and cut knuckles... that is common and we cowboy up knowing it's only blood. When we get sick it is really far removed from what the vast majority of our experiences are... so we remember back to other times we were sick (most of which occurred when we were kids - so logically we got babied a little). Time and time again, I have heard women say that s guy is nothing but a big kid - well in this instance it may be more true than not.
So when he is sick enough to actually acknowledge that he is sick, take a secnd and think back to the percentage of times he just cowboys up and goes on about the day... not mentioning a toothache, sore back, cut hands.. etc.. (sure it won't apply to all if us, but I bet it applies to most of us guys.)
