Default The effect of Changing Dentists

I have a "perceived" dilemna that I would really appreciate some advice on. My 10 year twins are at the stage where they need braces. I am going to use my FSA to cover hopefully most of the cost BUT we are in the situation that we will have to move sometime next summer. My wife insists that if we start the treatment plan with the braces now with their current dentist that it will be replaced instead of continued by a new dentist somewhere else. I really don't understand why that would be the case but she is insistent that will probably happen. I am sure this isn't a unique situation but I need to know if anyone has experienced problems of this kind changing dentists, especially before I spend a lot of money to do this. Thanks

If you get the children's dental records to the new dentist, there isn't any reason the treatment plan needs to change. The new and former dentists will communicate if you let them know about the move and share the contact info between the dental offices.
There are remarkable developments in orthodontics so traditional braces may not even be an issue for you. My 11 yr old had some metal put in his mouth to maintain space for the rest of his adult teeth to come through without severe overcrowding. No matter how big he smiles you can't see it.
