Question The ultimate stroller?!?!?

I don't think we are alone in this ship. So I figure someone else may have solved the problem and I wouldn't need to reinvent the stroller... I mean wheel.

OK... here's a little background info:
This fall we will have a two year old, a one year old, and a newborn. The two year old can walk and run at a decent pace but tires out on the longer events - like a full day at the zoo (everything is either up a hill or down a hill). The one year old can walk but at a toddlers pace (which is just fine). The newborn - complete burrito stage.

So we need a stroller that can handle the newborn 100% of the time, add the one year old about 60-70% of the time and the two year old 25-35% of the time. Chances are toward the end of the longer trips I will be pushing three sleeping passangers.

Where do I find an affordable, narrow enough for doorways stroller that will hold the diapers/change of clothes/snacks/etc plus be able to safetly haul three sleeping little ones of different sizes? It needs to be able to collapse for hauling about in the minivan.

I was thinking about maybe going with a tandem stroller with the sidecar (since we already own the sidecar)

What have others done? any tips?

Default Recommendation

I would recommend the Iglesina stroller. I have a double stroller that I bought for my then newborn, and then 1 year old. The stroller handles the difference in weight very well, fits through most every doorway, and folds up more compactly than your big, bulky stroller. It cost about $230 delivered. I ordered it online. I love this stroller.

I have a sit and stand, which has been atmazing! I have a 2 yr old and a 5 month old. Have you thought about using one of those for the two older ones, and maybe using a Snuggli (a front pack) for the newborn? Before we got the double stroller, this is what i used along with a single stroller...worked out great that way too!

Thanks - I'm going to look into the Iglesina stroller based on your recommendations since in about 5 weeks I'm going to have a newborn and a 13 month old!

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

I HIGHLY recommend the Kohlcraft Contour. The seats pop out, and it comes with two seats and and an infant carseat holder. When the infant grows out of the infant seat you can pop it out and pop the extra seat in. They also turn around so that you can face either seat any way. I am always changing the views of my kids! When they get sick of looking at each other I can turn them around for a whole new view! However, this is a double stroller. I see you need three seats but this may be a brand to check out. They may make a triple!!!

I like the phil and ted double buggy and then just use the snuggli for the little one when needed.
It is about the size of a jogging stroller and can be used as a single buggy, but you can buy a seat the attaches. It is kind of complicated to explain, but if you look online you will see what I mean.
Worth a look for sure. I have known it to be used with a 4 year old and a 2 year old without it being too heavy. nice big wheels.
