Question Tips on puppy potty training???

So we got a puppy almost 3 weeks ago she's now 10 weeks old we are in the potty training process, she still doesn't get the fact that she has to go out to do her thing even though she mostly does them outside cause i put her there at the right time.... Any tips and how to get her trained and also how long till the sleep through the night cause mommy is getting pooped of getting up twice a night to put her outside...

First, Congrats on your new puppy.. she is adorable!! The key to it all is timing! When we first got Tucker( from the animal shelter) he was about 3 months old..I started this right away.. #1 dont make food or water available after 6pm and always take her out right before you to bed. #2 At feeding time after she finishes eating take her outside and stay there till she goes and #3 always take her to the same place. and always make a really big deal out of it when she goes ( lots of high pitched voice praise and petting and such.. no food rewards tho lol). I know that sounds silly but it works . and for now.. take her out to potty once an hour, you can extend it slowly to every 2 hours and then 3 as time goes on.. As for the sleeping.. as with human babies.. it comes with time and age lol and its different with every puppy!

pups tend to need to potty 30 mins after they eat (im talking number 2) so if you get her outside about that time (even a few mins earlier) she will eventually get the idea...also do you reward with treats? It works wonders! They dont need much, just a little piece of something to let them know they did a good job going potty where they need to.

If the pup has an accident in the house, show it to them, sternly say NO, and take them RIGHT outside.

I have lots more, my step dad is a trainer and my mom owns a pet sitting company It will take a few more weeks, and a few more accidents before they fully understand

well she rarely has accidents in the house cause i know when to take her outside but she doens't seem to get that the part where she's suppose to ask for the door , i'd like for her to do it on her own.. i know she's still a baby.

Getting them outside is the easy bit, with all of our dogs getting them to ask has been the hardest part, we had to resort to everytime one our of puppies asked for anything the first thing we would do was open the front door for them to see if they needed the loo even if they had just been out a few minutes before.
On the sleeping through the night issue, with the dogs we've had, which we always get between 12-15 weeks old depending on when they were ready,it has taken two to three months for them not to need something in the night. But by sleeping through the night I mean about five hours, then a bit less in the summer because of it becoming light quite early. Lots and lots of praise too, sometimes you might find as she is very young that after her shots have finished and she is allowed outside your garden, she may do protest pees in other peoples houses until she realises you aren't going to leave her anywhere.

So someone gave you her at 7 weeks! That is too early to be away from mum so she might take a bit longer to sleep through the night and settle as her mother still has many things to teach her.

Buy a really, really mean cat. Put mean cat in backyard. Send puppy out. Cat jumps out and hisses, puppy pees. Voila! j/k! But I did want to chime in and say that your sweet little furbaby is SO CUTE! I could just love on him all day!! Congrats!
