Toddlers and their funny moments in church
We with children have all had them....those moments when our toddlers do something out of the ordinary in church, either causing us embarassment or causing the congregation to laugh, but usually both. What are some of your children's funniest moments in church? (By funny, I mean now, not when it happened!)

Okay, I think I will start this one. My two oldest are only 14 1/2 months apart. Because of my husbands work schedule, he often didn't make it to church on Sunday with me. So, I think this happened when my oldest was about 16-17 months or so and my youngest was still a wee little newborn....maybe 2-3 months? Anyhow, I was only 21 at the time and still like to dress trendy and all...I happened to wear a pair of platformed slip on thong type sandles that day. Really cute, not so great for running. Anyhow, we had Gospel Doctrine in the Chapel at that time and I was not there because my kids wouldn't allow me to go, but my oldest decided she wanted to go in for a visit. Before I knew it, she was running up the isle, with me, several feet behind her....she didn't stop there, she ran up on stage and started dodging me by running up and down the isles of pews up there.....I couldn't catch her. Here I was, in the middle of Gospel Doctrine, carrying my infant running (hardly) in my platform shoes trying to catch my little rascal. Finally, one of the men from the audience (and I do mean audience, I am sure I was quite the spectical up there), came up and grabbed her. I walked out of there as fast as I could with a baby in one arm and my oldest under my other....in tears. Needless to say, I went home early that day!

My youngest was wearing a cute sweater and pants one day at church. She was sitting in the pew and we were standing. All of a sudden, I heard laughing behind us. I turned around and she had stripped down to her diaper! I was so embarrassed, but everyone else thought it was hysterical. She was around a year and a half at the time. That was 2 years ago and it's funny now. I did NOT laugh that day.

I was up in front of the Primary - it was huge - about 80 kids - and my son, who was 3 years old was sitting on the front row with his class. As I was giving the lesson, he decided he needed to be up with his mommy, so he came up and grabbed my leg, which was fine. But then he starting wrapping my skirt around his head like a turban. I tried to stop him and still carry on the lesson, but he's a tough little bugger and wasn't unwrapping and wasn't moving, and his teacher didn't try to help...well, he kept wrapping until my dress was slipping dangerously close to my waist, and I kept trying to unwind him and teach at the same time, and of course all the kids are giggling at this point, which egged my son on. I stopped the lesson and desperately tried to undo the situation without exposing my whole behind. My best friend happened to be walking by in the hall, saw what was going on, marched right in, picked him up, spun him around to unwind my dress and took him out. I was so embarrassed, but more than that, I couldn't believe no one tried to help me out! I guess it was too funny to get involved.

My little brother was about 18 months old when he stood up on the pew and waved back to my best friend during the Sacrament. He yelled "I love you, Beth!" We were about eight at the time, and she just about died. Everyone teased her about it for a long time.
My son who is sixteen months old right now is currently the fastest little person I have ever met. People around us laugh, because he will take off down the aisle and dodge the people who try to stop him as I run after him. I have had more than one guy say that he will make a great running back. He really is fast.

Our primary sang for Mother's Day and I was able to watch from the audience having been recently released as the primary pianist. I currently have 4 in primary and my 7 year old Autistic son was front and center. He had a great big smile on his face and delighted in waving enthusiastically to us in the back before and after every song. After the first song, he exclaimed in a loud voice, "You're in big trouble now!" When they were finished, he through his arms up in the air like "TA-DAH!!!" and then gave a big bow! I had most of the ward come up to me afterwards and tell me that they thought he was hilarious.
