At least you went AFTER the storm.

Keeping company with the kite surfer is the 17 year old who decided to watch Hurricane Dolly in S Padre Island - this is a real hurricane, mind you - FROM THE 7TH FLOOR BALCONY OF HIS HOTEL. He was blown off the balcony and is lucky to be alive.

Respect the weather, people. Respect the weather.

Smile Fay Fay Go Away

We are in Central Florida and this will be day three of wind and rain. Towns to the South of us have received over 30 inches of rain. We just started getting strong winds and rain yesterday. They were only in the 20 mile an hour range. We lost power last night for two hours. Luckily it was at bedtime, so we just crashed in my bed by candle light. The kids handled it very well. We woke up this morning to power. FPL, we love you! I was not looking forward to no electric.Still no baby yet. Maybe she is waiting for the rain to stop too. Only time will tell.

It is just a slow system. Only moving 10 miles an hour. Florida is going to be dealing with it for at least another week.

What concerns me is what other storm system comes AFTER all this flooding from a tropical storm. It won't have to dump much rain to flood with the ground being so saturated in low lying areas - and with more wind, that could really be a problem.

There is another low pressure area developing. Here is the radar. You can see Fay, and the area circled in yellow is the low pressure which could be our next storm.

Were we are moving to in september there are always massive storms, it is on the coast and on rough days the sea throws waves over the coastal houses, 4 storeys high, which are about 30 meters from the sea wall.

Kasia, I am in the Pensacola area. Where are you located - near orlando, Tampa, Jax, or further south?

We are looking for flooding and have a tropical storm watch. I am hoping that it does not raise high enough to come into the garage or house. How many inches fell on your area?
