Default Trouble with Names

We are having a horrible time deciding on a name for our soon to be little girl. Every time we decide on a name we end up not liking it a few weeks later or someone tells us they hate it.
Our latest name is Bella

I stopped telling people what names I liked so they wouldn't tell me their opinion! Not everyone will have the same taste as you...and people name their kids things you would never name yours too.....

I agree with Megan- we don't really discuss our name choices with others because everyone has an opinion! It's sickening! LoL! It's hard enough to come up with a name that the two of you agree one, and you have no obligation to please everyone else!

When the "right" name comes up, you'll know because you won't change your mind!

My husband and I had our little girl's name picked out long before I was preggers. It popped up one day and we decided we loved it. We had a harder time with a boy's name. Since we had twins we didn't want it to be too matchy but we wanted them to kind of go together. The middle names were easy because we just used grandparents names. We have the names for our next boy or girl picked out already too because they were the close 2nd to the names for these two. I definitely agree that the right name will just pop up and you'll love it, we passed over tons and tons of names before finding the right one for our son. Don't worry, some people even wait until after the baby is born to decide on a name - preferring to see him/her and get a feel for their personality.
Go with your gut! I love Bella too by the way. My cousin's daughter is Sarah Bella Lenita (the second middle name is the family name).

I think Bella is a beautiful name... no pun intended!!

I'm one of those people that have to wait until I actually hold my baby in my arms to name him. With both my older kids I had a list, and one or two names kept sticking out in my mind... and by the time each was born, the one that kept sticking out just was the perfect fit. I have a list again this time, and DH is so aggravated that I won't let him choose the name, unless it's from my list!!! But like the first two, I have a first name sticking out in my mind, and I'm fairly certain that DH will agree with that one!! I just have to see my baby first!

I think waiting until the baby is born is a great idea. We loved the name Braden for our first so we didn't wait. With our 2nd he looked exactly like his dad which was one of the names we had picked. Bella is a very pretty name. Dont share your names until you are sure, then it doesnt matter if they dont like it because you already do.

People drive me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I was ecpecting Tiffany everyone had an opinion about her name!!!!!!!!!!! We had a list of 5 or 6 names, and peopel I didn't even know that well were telling me "oh don't use this name, I know someone that was really mean with that name" Big deal!! Like I care!!!! What made them think it mattered to me?????
This time around the only people I have told any of our name choices to are you ladies!!!!!!! No friends, no family, they proved themselves too opinionated last time.
I would not listen to any advice that they have given, it is your baby, your choice. (dh too) Good luck to you!! I hope you end up with a name you both love!!!! Bella is a great name.
Tiffany was 3 days old before we named her!!!! Poor baby.

I'm now 38 weeks with no name at all picked for our little girl---in large part because DH and I can't agree! I have names I love, he has names he love, and we can't agree! YIKES!!!

My family and friends are all "helping" by bombarding us with names (Inc. my MIL who said "Well . . I would've named my boys Sarah if I'd had another girl. [My SIL] wouldn't use it to name any of her girls, so I really think this is what you should name your daughter"

The thing is I was actually kind of sort of thinking about Sarah--until MIL mentioned it and now it's off the list.

People should leave their comments to themselves! The other day when my dad was trying to "help" I finally told him "You don't get a vote" He said "Yes, I get a vote--it just doesn't count" and I corrected him---the only people who get a vote are me and DH. Everyone else has to stay quiet!

Good Luck getting dh to agree!!! Dh didn't agree to a name till I was in active labor. When she came out and he realized he had to settle on that girl name (he'd been hoping for a boy) He tried to back out of it but I already wrote it down! So I won and he loves her name now.
