Default ECB Internet Coupon

I am a new CVS customer and had a question regarding the ECB internet coupon. Me and my husband have two different CVS cards. I usually get more than 1 printouts of the same coupon to safegaurd against loss/damage of coupons. One day after I had used one of my ECB internet printout coupons for $10.00 at one of the CVS stores, I by mistake used the same coupon in another CVS store with my card and it worked . This is really strange since the coupon was already used and should ideally have been rejected at the check out counter since I had used it a few hours ago in another CVS store.
Since this is a genuine mistake, I was wondering if CVS will send me a letter or something asking me to return the $10 to them or cancelling my CVS card or something even worse . Please advise senior members if anyone else has come across the same issue and what has happened here. TIA.

Just to clarify, when you say "ECB internet printout coupons for $10.00" do you mean you earned a $10 ECB for purchasing one of the weekly/monthly deals or was it a $10 off of $X purchase?

I had purchased something a week back with which I had got the $10 ECB coupons which I printed off of the internet. But as I explained earlier, I mistakenly used 2 of the same coupons in 2 different stores and the **** coupons worked...am I in trouble for using the same coupon twice....HELP.........

I wouldn't worry yourself over it. I think a good number of us have had this happen to us before. The computer should not have accepted the coupon at the second store which leads me to believe that at one of the stores the ECB beeped and they pushed it through manually. A lot of times the cashiers do it so quickly that you don't even realize that there was a problem with the ECB. If you're concerned about it, call corp and explained what happened, but I don't think you need to worry about them cancelling your card or asking for the money back. It's a "first offense" and a lot of ECBs never get redeemed anyway.

To avoid this, I'd just print out one copy of each. If some loss/damage does happen, you can always print it out again later. Why waste the paper/ink if you don't need a second copy?

I haven't had this happen before (probably b/c I only have one copy of each coupon)... but I agree that they won't punish you for the mistake. Just DON'T DO IT AGAIN!

Absolutely! Definitely don't waste the paper and ink if you don't have to. I've unintentionally had it happen that I used the same coupon twice when all those deals back in October were going on and I was earning so many ECBs that were identical in amount. I thought I was activating a new one online but it came up with the older one that was already used and they pushed it through and I only knew it happened when the ECB I thought I used printed out on my receipt! It happens and we just learn and don't do it again as Nikki said!

Thanks a lot for the response and the advise....would try to be a nicer CVSer from now on .....
on a side note....since i did use the same coupon twice on the same cvs card, how does cvs corporate track these issues (if they do this at all) and what is their response to customers like me in these situations (not the store response but CVS corporate response since the store didn't know/realize anyways that the coupon was already used...)

They make up for their losses by simply raising their prices. Look at the Hershey Cacao for example. Everywhere else sells these for .99 each. At CVS, its $1.19. an increase of 20% !!!!

Its just a matter of time that this will catch up to them...

How 'bout you contact corp, tell them what happened, and then let us know what their response is?

My guess: they'll apologize for your confusion & inconvenience , but reconfirm for you that in the future, you are not to use EB more than once.
