Default Unique Gift Wrapping Ideas Here

Besides for the usual gift wrapped box
or
gift bag with the usual tissue and bows,
do you have any fun or unusual giftwrapping suggestions?

Please share....

Here is a twist on the giftwrapping idea.

I purchased a Wii game for my 3 boys to enjoy (DH & the sons.)
I really didn't want just one of the 3 to unwrap it,
so know what I did?

It is in a 1/2 sized gift box and I wrapped it
several times, probably 12 or 13 times over and over again.
Each time had different Christmas paper.

That way, they can remove one wrapped layer, pass it to each the next, and repeat until it gets to the actual gift.

Makes it kind of fun and builds the excitement.

Those 3 gallon cans of popcorn that we all seem to love
at the holidays are a fav gift.

Cover the entire can with a solid color of gift wrap - red, blue, green.
Take your pick.

Then take yellow tissue paper, placing it in the middle of the top of the can, sticking up like a candle wick, and it will look like a big votive candle.

I have used some of the kids artwork as gift wrap for the grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. It is like giving 2 gifts in 1!

I also love using baskets & buckets to help disguise those obvious shaped gifts.

Love children's artwork! You are so correct that is another gift for auntie, uncle, or grandparents too!

I read an environmentally friendly idea that I liked. Use something like a pretty scarf to wrap a gift. It creates less waste and the scarf doubles as another gift. A pretty baby blanket can be used for a baby's gift or a baby shower. There were other ideas too, like pillow cases. I can't remember some of the others, but it was a cute idea.

Found these ideas at www.associatedcontent.com/article/86721/unique_holiday_gift_wrap_ideas.html?page=1
Paper bags: Standard paper lunch bags or plain paper grocery bags can be used like regular gift bags, and they are a great way to give your gifts a rustic appeal. Tie with twine and decorate with pine branches for instant chic. Or you can decorate the bags with rubber stamping, stencils or other personal touches. If you have children, give them some crayons and tell them to cover the bags in their artwork.
Old maps: Have an old, out-of-date Atlas in your car? Old Atlas pages are a great way to wrap small gifts. Large wall maps can be used to wrap bigger gifts. The print itself is interesting and colorful, and the map can give an added dimension to a travel-related gift, like a toiletry bag or piece of luggage. Adolescent boys, in particular, tend to like this type of wrapping paper.
Wax paper: Semi-transparent wax paper can create a really stylish look for a sophisticated gift, like a collectible book or leather-bound journal. Wrap as usual and then decorate with a plain ribbon for a simple but elegant package. Use multiple layers to make the wrapping less transparent. You could also iron dried flowers between wax paper layers for added elegance.
Fabric: Make the wrapping part of the gift by choosing a multi-function item. Cloth bags, tee-shirts, fleece blankets or linen tablecloths are a great way to wrap a gift and also give a little something extra. Other good choices include bath towels, cloth napkins or dishtowels. Match the wrap to the gift for a personal touch. For example, wrap a kitchen utensil in a dishtowel.
Containers: Boxes, jars and baskets that contain your gift - like gift baskets or gifts-in-a-jar - do double-duty as the wrapping, too! Just add a bow or ribbon to complete the package. Look for unique containers, like an old cigar box or a fireproof safe.
Printables: Print family photos on to regular paper to wrap small gifts. You could also print out activity sheets - like puzzles or coloring pages - to wrap gifts for children. You may even choose to print out a special holiday poem or story that the gift recipients can read after they take home the package.

I actually had someone do that for me for my baby shower (use a blanket as the wrapping). It was great!
