Well, we are finally getting somewhere with our boy...
... if you count referrals for Occupational Therapy and Child Development as getting somewhere.
Yup, not joking. After consulting with a psychologist and our pediatrician, we are likely dealing with ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, or a combination of the two... just waiting for the referrals to tweak out a precise diagnosis. And yes, I do count this as a big step -- it means that a problem's been recognized and he's going to get the help he needs.
In the meantime, for over a month now we've been dealing with an Energizer bunny of a kid who doesn't sleep well and melts down at the drop of a hat... BUT we
are learning his triggers and better ways to deal with him. A weekend away for Mommy and Damian while Gabriel stayed home with Daddy didn't hurt either.
Anyhow, we know we've got a long road ahead of us... but it's a relief to know we're going to get some help along the way!
