Smile Usborne Childrens Books

I just wanted to share with everybody a little bit about Usborne childrens books. We own quite a few, and they're really great. Last year, my son's class was doing a research project on medical advances during the last century. He took the Usborne Book of World History Dates to class with him to help with his research. The teacher loved it so much, she bought several copies to keep in her classroom for future projects! They have books for all age ranges and interests. They're also a great supplement for those who are homeschooling.

Default Book Drive for the Children of Hurricane Katrina

A few weeks ago, I sponsored a book drive through my website for the evacuee children affected by Hurricane Katrina. This week, I had the opportunity to deliver those books to a school here in our community that has enrolled 153 evacuee children. The book drive raised a total of 56 new books for these children. My only regret is that I was not able to give each of these children a new book. Since they have lost everything, the school is specifically asking for personal items for the children, such as books and toys. I have decided to run the book drive again, in hopes of raising enough books for each of these children to have one (maybe even two!) new book apiece.
Since reading can change a child's life, providing them with new books is the best way I can think of to help. I'm asking everyone here to consider purchasing at least one book for these children. They will be forever grateful, and I know the parents will be too.

(During checkout, if you choose "Ship to Organization", then you will incur no shipping charges, and the books go straight to the kids.)
