Default UTI and pregnancy

Hi eveybody! I hope that you are all doing well. I have a slight concern and I hope that someone can help me with it. I was told this week that since I have recurring UTIs and pregnant that I am at a moderate risk in my pregnancy. I'm a little disconcerted about this. I'm not really sure what this means. I'm supposed to be seeing my OB on Tuesday to have my first u/s. (I'm only about 12-13 weeks but I think that this u/s is to measure how big my baby is so that I will know my due date a bit more.) I'm irregular and so I'm pretty sure that I didn't ovulate when I was supposed to.
Does being at moderate risk allow for more u/s? My insurance will only pay for one routine u/s and since I am having one this early, I won't be able to find out what I am having which would not be the end of the world, but it would nice to know.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I have had recurring UTIs since I have had my son 19 months ago so far with this prgenancy I have had 3 or 4 . They just check my urine for uti when I go in. Make sure you drink lots of water and if you think you have one you need to go in right away and get checked out becuase it can cause issues if you let it go.

I have had UTIs since I was in 2nd grade. I also had them through my pregnancy. Drink LOTS of water. The cranberry juice thing works, only if you drink it BEFORE you get a UTI. I have found drinking water works best to avoid them. And if you think you have one, go in, get it checked, it's nothing to play around with, pregnant or not. Good luck, and congrats on the pregnancy!

I just had a slight UTI and they just gave me antibiotics and sent me home. I was having Braxton Hicks contractions and they said that the UTI and my slight dehydration could cause it...but they didn't act like it was a big deal. Just make sure you drink LOTS and LOTS of water. I know it sucks, but I definitely would rather drink water than have to have an IV like I did a couple days ago.
