Default Veneers?

Does anyone know how much veneers cost?
I have wanted veneers on my 2 teeth that are on each side of my 2 front teeth. But don't know if i can afford it. They are just very small and make my 2 front teeth appear larger than they are. Cute on a kid, no so much on an adult.

Yeah, my little sister is a dental hygienist and we have talked about it extensively (because I want some too ) she says that 1000/tooth is pretty standard right now because they haven't been available to the general public all that long. She basically told me that she would be very cautious of anyone claiming they could do them for less because there are some unscrupulous dentists who have done another procedure involving a resin treatment instead of the true porcelain veneers and called it veneers. That procedure is not really for cosmetic purposes but for reconstructing broken teeth and the resin can easily become stained and unsightly. Also, most of the old tooth has to be removed beforehand for that procedure. Just so you know, some of your existing tooth will have to be filed off to have a veneer set, the lumineers actually require less tooth removal but are more expensive. So look to pay about $1000/tooth (or more) for a true porcelain veneer treatment.

You should also know that they don't last forever, you will need to replace them probably once every 10 years or so, so it is a commitment to that expense if you decide to have them done. Hope that helps!

Hi...

Dental veneers or Lumineers® are $500-1,300 a tooth. Traditional porcelain veneers are about .5 millimeters thick, and cost around $500-$1,100 each; the Lumineers® brand is.2 to .3mm thin (like a contact lens) and runs $700-$1,300. Veneers are rarely covered by dental insurance.
