Had a very busy day today at work.
Made appointments for my elderly parents
to use their electric wheelchairs on the Access Van w/ a wheelchair lift.
This was their 1st trip.
Sent my two boys along to keep it going smoothly
and the four of them went out to lunch at a local BBQ restaurant.
What fun and it was successful!
They got back and Dad decided to do two more errands:
Sears for his hearing aids
and
Pharmacy medical equipment store to get his new leather shoes
covered by Medicare due to his diabetic issues.
My boys did not have the electric wheelchair, so pushed my elderly
dad to both these appointments.
I joined them at the 2nd one for the new shoes, having just gotten off work,
then, DS#1 and I returned to their apt
to stay for supper with Mom & Dad in the main diningroom.
Their neighborlady slammed her fingers in the door,
so I helped be a good nurse to get her sling, icebag, pillows situated.
It was her birthday and we had helped her celebrate.
You're supposed to have a bang on your birthday,
just not the kind with fingers in the door. Ouch!
One funny thing:
Elderly Dad lost his hearing aid at the restaurant.
The battery went rolling. My two sons were on the floor, as well
as two waitresses, and other people looking for this little round battery.
David even used a fork to see if it was in the mashed potatoes.
Can you imagine?
Finally spotted by DS#2.
He had a pocket full of good batteries, but lost the hearing aid back
in the process.
My elderly Mom calls this hearing aids, "Your Dad's earrings!"
