Yesterday was my baby's 6th birthday, and overall we had a great birthday week-end. It was the first year we didn't go up north to see our extended families for a party, so we made it extra special for Vince down here.

Saturday morning we went to an open house at the Fire Department, he got to use a fire hose and ride in the fire truck. We were supposed to go swimming Saturday afternoon, but his friend had the flu so we postponed that outing. Then my sister-in-law, her husband and his 2 grandkids came over for pizza and cake - we sang Happy Birthday and ate a skate park cake.

Sunday (Vince's actual birthday) we went bowling in the morning and went to the park in the afternoon. It was a pretty fun week-end, even without the swimming! Vince still missed grandma and grandpa and all his cousins though, so next year we'll probably party up north again.

A picture of the skate park cake is on my site (don't know how to paste it in here), not too bad but I'm certainly no Ace of Cakes!!
