We just bought a new house!
WOW, do I feel relieved!
2 weeks ago we put our house up for sale. In 4 days...it was sold! While you might think this is a good thing, we never expected it to happen so quickly. DH and I decided we were never gonna move again so our next house has to hold us through the long haul. We wanted very specific things and to stay in a specific area. Well, of course there were no houses that fit all that criteria.
We found 1 that was everything we wanted except it was a little outside of the area we wanted and a smidge over what we wanted to spend. But, given that fact that out house sold so quickly we really had to weigh our options. We decided to go for it anyway.
They flat out refused our offer and basically said we want full price...no matter what. After a LOT of haggling by our agent and convincing them that our offer was fair based on comparables in the area they finally accepted. Settlement is 4/8
