weird poops
I was reading "The ins and outs of what comes out" and now have a question for you.
Cristi's poops are getting really far between, I know they can be 2-3 days. But hers are 3-4 and then she will have 2 a day for about 2 days. They are all water, no solidness to them at all. Now they are really green, and much sweeter smelling. Is this normal, should I mention it to the pedi at her 2 month, or call now?
Light yellow to bright green, loose/runny, curdy, lumpy, seedy, creamy, mustard-like
These are normal breastfed stools. The consistency, frequency and color vary from day to day. My wife described the smell as "curried yogurt". Opinions on this odor description differ widely.
Frequent Watery Stool often "Greener" than usual
How can you spot diarrhea in a baby who has loose frequent stools every day? This type of poop is "diarrhea" in a breastfed baby. It can be due to a virus, a bowel infection, stress, anxiety or a food intolerance.

generally i found that when a BF baby has diarrhea it smells bad, like an off, foul smell. It's fine for a BF baby to go upto 2 weeks without going and i found (even now) that Gabby would miss a few days and then make up for them missed days by going several times in one day and she was watery til she was taking solids, if i remember rightly it wasn't until she started regurlarly having solids twice a day.
very green poo can also be too much foremilk, Gabby use to have this sometimes until sometime after 3 months ... if you are really worry i would just mention it at her next appt but she sounds fairly normal to me

when izzy was christi's age, her poops changed. she started going once a week, and it's perfectly normal. i've noticed most of the articles & books i read were geared more towards formula fed babies. don't worry, it's normal

When is her 2 month appointment? I wouldn't worry about it too much and just mention it at her 2 month appointment. Every baby is different and poops on different schedules. Is she straining to poop? Does it look like watery cottage cheese? Ellamae's looks like wattery cottage cheese and it varys form bright yellow to green. Ellamae poops several times a day. As pp said diarrhea smells bad!

I've heard that babies can go 10 days with out pooping before there is any cause for concern... they're just trying to get their bodies in the swing of things. Scarlette's poop was very sweet smelling too, and I mentioned it to the ped and she laughed at me and said it was very normal, and to enjoy it while it lasted, haha! As long as it's not jet black, I don't think there is cause for any concern... I'll still mention it to her doc, just in case though. Good luck!

While I was BFing Nevy she would go 4 or more days without going #2. I agree with everyone else that diarrhea does stink something bad!
