Default What are you New Years Eve Plans?

We are staying home this year and having my brother and sister in law over for dinner and drinks and games.
We did this last year too and had more fun that when we go out.
Probably in a few years when the kids are bigger we will go to the partys again......maybe!

I'm hoping to stay awake this year to see the ball drop!! I've been so tired lately.

We are suppose to go over a friends house, nothing to big and exciting.

Probably go out to dinner with my son, and then take him to a party that one of his high school friends is having - and come home and do more painting and watch the ball drop and marvel at Dick Clark's continued recovery from a stroke.

And then pick him up from the party as he does not yet have his license and I don't want him driving with teens, especially on New Years eve.

my parents were the same way...."if you are going to go to a party just TELL us so we can pick you up!"

good idea

My extended family still has one more Christmas Fri - Sun,
and I work on Monday,
so it is hard to consider thinking about New Year's just yet.

Locally here, there is a big festival called "First Night." 100 communities have one of these 1st Night events.
It is family oriented, 75 different activities (art, theater, comedy, puppets, groups that sing and dance, all kinds of music), and is non-drinking.
The night ends with fireworks over the IL Capitol Building.

We do this every year:

Load up on munchies
Load up on movies
Pile into Mom & Dad's bed
Watch movies till we all fall asleep

We're going to have pizza and watch movies. Perhaps do a foot pedicure, nails, hair, etc. I'm thinking Mommy (me) will have some wine too. Watch the ball drop, of course, and go to bed.

Rich (dh) and Conner will long since be in bed by the time the ball drops. My "party" will consist of me and my 3 girls.

We used to have a First Night in Teaneck, near me, but I haven't seen anything about it in recent years. We really enjoyed it, very family friendly.
