I was there 7mnths ago and keep thinking I was going to be able to pull myself through it. Finally 4mnths into it I went to my dr and she prescribed me Effexor XR, because I was having terrible anxiety as well. I have never felt better and now when I look back I can't believe I held out for so long! I was a mess! I never showered, got out of my pj's, never cooked or cleaned. I just sat here feeling sorry and verry depressed. You are not alone and don't ever be afraid to ask for help. I am glad you are going, you will feel so much better!!! Hugs

The first 3 weeks after I had Ellamae I had the "baby blues". It was awful. I felt very guilty. It is such a weird feeling it is hard to describe. But I am lucky that it only lasted 3 weeks. If the doctor gives you medication, remember it can take 2 weeks for the medication to start working properly.

Ive been on meds for 5 months now, and actually just had my doseage upped a bit. Things got better for awhile with taking it once a day, then something just happened out of nowhere and i was miserable again. Now I have to take it 2x a day. It does definitly work though!
I was the same way, didnt want to hurt the baby, just myself, so I know EXACTLY what you are going through. I cant imagine tho, going through it with number 7, it must be, well, 7x's as hard!!!! Im here if you ever wanna talk

I experienced PPD as well. I can tell you , it doesn't last very long. Just give your body a chance to settle and I promise you'll be ok!
Do you have anyone to talk to in your family, some support? Maybe you can ask someone to stay at your house with you and the baby while you rest a bit here and there.
Good luck and I'll pray for your relief!
In the mean time, enjoy that precious new baby.

Yes, go see your doctor to get some meds for your PPD. I went through a mild version myself w/ my two sons.
I know how much you love your children and what a good Mom you are to them.
Part of that being a good Mom is taking care of your health.
Is there a grandma, or auntie that could help you? Or what about an after school helper that is 12 - 14 that could help you with supper & chores each night?
Keep us posted, my dear.

It's great that you are taking steps to help yourself by seeing your doctor. Are there family or friends around that can help you with practical activities, such as childminding and washing while you focus on yourself? It is very important emotionally to have a back-up force in place even if you don't always use it.
Also have you considered getting natural progesterone cream? This is not to be confused with prescription progesterone which is actaully a man-made chemical called progestogen. Many of my clients who suffer from PPD are low in progesterone and this happens naturlly after giving birth but somethimes the body doesn't adjust quickly enough to this major hormone shift and depressive symptoms result.
You can read my articles on PPD here.
Sometimes PPD occurs due to pre-existing stresses prior to the birth so counseling may also be helpful. You are welcome to contact me if you need additional help.

I am glad that you are going to see your doctor.
You can talk to any of us anytime!
Hang in there you have a beautiful family. Talk to your doctor.
It is something that won't last forever. Mine lasted about 6 weeks.
I hope you feel better soon.

How are you feeling Tracey? I hope you have gotten in to see your doctor... I take meds for depression on a regular basis and had a rough time with PPD this time around as well (literally wanting to pound your head through a wall is not fun lol). Agreed with the pp's -- is there any way you can get some help so that you can get more rest? I found that once I started getting more sleep (after Damian started meds for his reflux) things made a drastic improvement. Keep us posted sweetie, and please take care of yourself!
