I'm new to this, do not have any kids, so I just have a few questions on what to expect. First off, how long does it usually take to get pregnant on average? I read somewhere from 6 months to a year. I just went off BC in August so it hasn't been that long at all. What are the first symptoms you experience, I know they are different for everyone, But some people say they "just knew." Did anyone gain weight after going off the pill? Because I know I have, plus the stress of TTC , probably doesn't help. Does anyone take vitamins or supplement before getting pregnant or do you just wait until you know you are. It is pretty stressfull as well, because you don't want to be let down if it doesn't happen. I'd like to hear about other people's experiences if you'd like to share.

Some people get pregnant right away after going off the pill while others it takes a while. I was off the pill for 2 months and got pregnant... we were prepared for it to take a year or so.
I took prenatal vitamins for about a year before I went off the pill... They are high in healthy goodies and make me have more energy.
As far as symptoms... they vary from person to person. Sore breasts, increased appetite, etc. Those were some symptoms I had. I knew I was pregnant when my DH and I went out to eat and I ate all of my food plus whatever he had left on his plate. He asked if I had a tapeworm or something. The next morning I took a test and I was pregnant! Some women also have morning sickness. I was lucky and didn't have any. I got slightly nauseated one morning, but never got sick. My sister on the other hand had 3 months of bad morning sickness... and hers was ALL day long.

every woman's different. for myself & 1 of my sisters, we conceived both our children while on the pill. for another 1 of my sisters, it took her almost 2-2 1/2 years to get pregnant with her first. GL!
