Default What is your speciality?

Are you renown for a favorite dish? Is it a recipe that all your family love or is it one of your entertaining specialities? My mother is famous for her pavlova --she doesn't seem to be capable of making a dud. An aunt was famous for her dinner parties with a choice of three mains and two desserts. It was like going to a restaurant! Sadly, I am only famous for doing great table layouts --cooking is not my greatest gift...I missed out on the gene.

I think what everyone likes best is the big meals -- prime rib, pot roast, turkey, baked steak. Basically the dinners with mashed potatoes and gravy. Anything that takes some time to cook.

I am known for desserts and baking. I do cook and have been known to cater cute theme parties for friends. . .but if there's a potluck I am always asked to bring THE dessert. (Not a dessert--the dessert for the whole thing!) Good thing our church is small!

Everyone knows me for my fried rice. I am a huge fan of Asian food and based on what I had seen throughout the years, I created my own version. There really isn't any recipe to it, but I generally use the same ingredients, sometimes adding different veggies or meats to change it up a bit.

The only edible item I can honestly say I've gotten rave reviews for was my Carmel Corn. Very addictive, full of nuts and carmel and very bad for your teeth. The sugar content can cause your kids to be a little hyper but it's MMM MMM good!

Yummy! Caramel corn is my FAVORITE!! I am famous for my sweet and sour baked beans. People always look forward to them in the Summer time and refer to them as, "Chrissy's famous beans".

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd pipe in. With my friends I am known for my baking - especially Texas Sheet Cake which seems to be a favorite amongst my closest friends.

With my immediate family (in my household) I am probably best known for a beef, rice and gravy dish that I've been making since I got married to my ex husband.

And lastly with my extended family (i.e. my parents, and anyone else related to me outside the home)... I think I am best known for side dishes. I make a great watergate salad, another great fruit salad. All are easy but I think they are just the dishes I make most often when we are all together.

I'm also known as the queen of pasta around everyone. My favorite food is pasta - and I seem to make it frequently!

Anything except desserts!! My desserts are the plain garden variety like banana bread or spice bread. We RARELY eat a dessert and everyone knows if you want dessert at my house, you might as well bring it with you. lynclarke
