Default What makes a great Dad?

I've just posted a new blog for fathers entitled "The best thing a father can give his child." The answer might surprise you! You can find it at http://mental-health.families.com/bl...give-his-child

I think this article is great. I am a single dad so I do have a question. If you are no longer with the mother and moved on to another relationship, how do you show the mother love without offending your new partner?

Coming from the other side of this kind of relationship I would say that one of the best things you can give your children's mother is respect. Don't talk badly about her in front of your children and teach them to have respect for her. In a way this is "love". This will also ensure that your new partner is not jealous.

Belive me I wish my ex was like this...It would greatly imrpove not only our relationship but the relatioship he has with our son.

Hi Clipfi
I'm glad you liked the article, I thought the concept was excellent which is why I wrote a blog on it. I answered your question earlier today on the blog comment that you made. Just link here to locate it.
Best wishes

I just left a comment on the blog itself...Great idea and something every guy/dad needs to read and act on. A young lady needs to be witness to the way all women deserve to be loved and treated. That way, they will grow up strong, confident and not accept the crappy treatment and bad relationships so many young women get caught up in - often because they saw their mother put up with the poor conditions and lack of real love.

Thanks, Jeff. I think it's important for fathers to set a good role model for their sons as well! Best to learn it right from the start rather than have to go through countless unsuccessful relationships before having to rethink how one deals with others. A good role model sure saves a lot of pain in later life.
