Default What the **** (pet food)

I heard on the news that some cats and dogs were dying from the food they ate. So I tried researching the subject and only got confused and then the next week they released one name to avoid so guess what that's what we feed our cat!!!! Now there are several foods being recalled and I have no idea what is safe to feed my animals and what will kill them!!! How am I supposed to feed them and not worry about them dying because some idiot jack*** can't make dog food and cat food the right way?

Stores are supposed to have the re-called pet food off the shelves.

There is a letter to the editor in today's local newspaper about
the re-called pet food. It was from a hospital dietician that I know from work.

She and her DH just bought petfood on Sunday at a nation-wide chain
store. When they got home, they checked the can #'s and they
were on the re-called pet food listing! They just purchased these 2
days ago.

Why aren't the stores taking the poisened dog & cat food off the shelves?

I do not know why it keeps happening. Do you?

These are the recalled cat foods: http://www.menufoods.com/recall/product_cat.html

And the dog food: http://www.menufoods.com/recall/product_dog.html

I think everyone's best bet is to stay away from the canned food for awhile.

If your animal has trouble with the dry food, try soaking it in a little milk or water first!

I hope this is all over soon. How scary for pet owners! These little furballs are our family...

some dog & cat treats are recalled too.

The Canadian division of Del Monte Foods has recalled "Jerky Treats" beef flavour dog snacks with a best before date of August 16th 2008.
The U.S. Division had already recalled the treats, in addition to "Pounce" moist chicken flavour cat treats.
Another unrelated recall has storowners pulling "Dingo" Jerky Chicken Treats off the shelves over fears of salmonella.
