After your comments, and great debate with my partner we have implemented the following bedtimes for weeknights during the summer:
Boy 14 - Bed at 11:30 lights out at 1:00
Girl 12 - Bed at 10:30 lights out at 12:00
I think it is a bit too late but of course am comprimising with their dad. Their mother does not work and her boyfriend is a Fireman. So with the funny work hours in her home there are no bedtimes for any of the 5 kids that live there.
Currently the 12 year old hates us, but we will work on that!
