Default what to play with?

So Parker will be 9 months old on Saturday. He's crawling all over the place, and pulling himself up on things, and he stands for a few seconds on his own as well. Anyways, he has a TON of toys...all that do things, all different kinds of toys, etc. But he doesn't really show any interest in playing with anything. He'll play with something for maybe 5 minutes, then he's fussing and wants to be held or just starts crawling around. My mom said he needed more hands on toys...but like I said he has a ton of those already...anyone have any suggestions as to what I could get him? I just think he's going to be a very active little kid who doesn't want to be inside playing with toys....

my oldest DD was just the same...there is a fisher price toy out that spits balls out, but i cant seem to find the link for it anywhere, so maybe they stopped selling it. But it ran on air and shot the balls into the air and they had to crawl after them pick them up and put them back inside...it kept my dd busy for quite awhile

and also toys like this where he can stand and play http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?...at=bubrilliant

this is still a huge favorite with both my girls (8 months and 2.5 yrs) we got it at the flea market for $3 http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?...446&pcat=bulnl

HTH...plus anything in ur home, pots/pans w/ spoons....laundry baskets...they will keep him entertained for a bit

Emma (who is a little over 9 months) loves an empty 2 liter bottle. Seriously, she bats it around and crawls after it like a cat. She also loves my tupperware cabinet and toys that make different sounds or "talk" to her when she plays with them.

Also, I put 1/2 her toys away in a closet and when she starts getting bored of what she is playing with I switch them out. To her it is like brand new toys.

HTH!

I have heard that works well, keeps them interested because they always have new toys.

we just got izzy this 3n1 ABC rocker/bike she loves it. she goes nuts playing with it. we have it in the rocker mode though, she doesn't get on it much but she loves playing with the wheel & buttons. it was $30, which is WAY more than i would've liked to have spent on a toy, but as wired as she gets playing it -- it's all okay.

before we got the "bike", we had a big basket that we had random things in. everything from her newborn toys, to shoes that are too small for her, to plastic bottles, spoons, a broken computer mouse... you name it it was in there. she loves pulling the things out, and it's just tall enough that she could pull herself to a stand & still be able to pull the last thing out of the bin. she's starting to put things back in the basket now which is really nice.
