We know it is super fun to do crafts with kids, especially when we get to join in on the fun....but what kind of crafts do you "crafty mommies" do for yourselves?

I go to a monthly scrapbooking night with some girl friends which keeps me somewhat up to date on the ones I am working on. I also just recently learned how to make jewelry with glass beads and wire. It was SO fun! Next time I make it to the craft store I want to pick up some supplies to get into that more. I would love to make them for gifts for people. And I have also been crocheting baby blankets for the last few years for all my friends who are having babies. That's nice to do when I get time to sit down and watch tv so I feel like I'm still accomplishing something . I also love to paint!

What other crafts do people do?

I think I like to paint more than anything but that is a craft that I do on my own and its just "me". I still love all the projects with the kids though too so its kind of a toss up.

I love knitting and am also getting into crocheting at the moment too. I just finished crochet-ing a bag- my first project!

I love to carve. Wood, bone, stone, to see something materialise out of the material you are working on is such a pleasure. And then to be able to give someone else pleasure when you give them something that has been made with your own hands.

I also like to paint - but dont do that so much, as any free time that I have is taken up at my carving bench .

So that is how I spend my free creative time.

Thanks for this thread - it is interesting to see what the other mums get up to!

(BTW, I also like long hot baths - but that is not really crafty )
