I tend to work more towards quilting and small cross stitching that I can pack in my purse or diaper bag so that I can have something to do while waiting in the waiting room.

My fave crafts are knitting, crocheting, sewing, and my 'other' is making wallpaper boxes. These boxes are made in any shape and from cardboard, glue and wallpaper. Old cereal boxes work best. Just plot out a box on paper and cut out and assemble it (where the any shape and size falls into play. My 10 inch across 6 pointed star is my fave so far.) Using "expired" wallpapers books (most stores will just give you these sample books for free after they expire) you cut coordinating wallpaper pieces to the box and glue them on. You can do interiors as well as exteriors. I tend to use wood glue because it gives a stronger integrity when it dries. Drying usually take at least 24 hours. depending on amount of glue used can be up to 96 hours dry time.
A couple of my aunts showed me how to make them and I hope one day to get back into making them regularly. I just need to remind myself to not recycle all of that cardboard when I want to make some wallpaper boxes.

Sherrill, this is the second time you have been told publicly to put the link to your blog in your sig, and NOT make posts inviting people to your site.

You have 24 hours to make these changes in your posts. Thank you.

I love any time of crafts. Right now I'm working on knitting with a loom on my free time (when I have free time). I like how portable it is too, I can take it with me and work on little hats that I plan on donating.

Thumbs up Impressive Family Project

Morning all,

While we do enjoy tv, we try to keep our children involved in projects. The more critical thinking, writing, and reading they do, the better their chances in life. Our neighbors and friends loved our latest project. We wrote a family newspaper using premade templates that a teacher created; I think it's called http://www.buildanewspaper.com. They're different because you can choose your own level (words per story), page size, and they're formatted so text rolls from column to column. Includes placeholders for photos, "advertisements" and articles; kids can create a publication for any topic. You all will love this: we're going to use their "family news" paper template for our Christmas letter this year, and have all 3 children write an article!

We come from a long line of finger painters. My son is now a Media Engineer and my daughter enjoys photography and writing. I, of course, am the owner of every magic marker, colored pencil and broken crayon known to man!
