We took the most in Australia when we first got our digital camera. Then we learned to delete bad photo's as we took them. Many of the cameras have several settings that affect lighting. One is using the ASA setting -- similar to selecting your film speed in a print camera. Another is the F-stops which affect how much light enters. If too bright, you can set the F-stop lower, if too dark, you can set it higher. Another thing we often do is turn off the flash which often "whites-out" too much of the picture.
