Default What's your favorite party theme?

At Christmas, my mom always arranged traveling dinners with her friends. Each friend was visited for the next item in the meal. 1st person served the appetizer, the 2nd soup, 3rd, main hot dish, salad, main dish, dessert and so on. This way, everyone in the group was visited and all the decor was admired. It helps if everyone lives nearby.

I love holiday open houses!
Actually I like having dinner parties for unusual holidays. Come over to my house and celebrate Columbus Day. I cook a traditional type of meal and invite friends and neighbors over for dinner and socilizing. it seems a bit odd, but I think people appreciate celebrating where they otherwise might not have. Its not about the holiday in most cases its about the people.

Default Invites back?

Do you get as many invites back from your parties as you invite? I find that I tend to be the arranger, everyone else just likes to attend, which is great. Another party idea I like is to have a 2-4 table card party and then swap every hand and find a winner, that way everyone talks with everyone.
