benedryl seems to be the only thing that helps...i did call the dr and the nurse told me to give her half the dose of childrens (for 2 yrs) cough meds....it wasnt doing anything so i went to bendryl and it makes such a big difference...she also sleeps She still coughs but you can tell its only when the mucus gets in her throat..

I am so scared of the childrens cough and cold meds! I gave some to Ashtyn a few days ago, well it was the Toddler Dimetapp cough and cold and she had a HORRIBLE allergic reaction to it and we ended up spending the night in the ER from it. Im a fan of benedryl though, they both have awful allergies and some nights that is the only thing that helps.

The whole "yellow--hospital now" thing reminded me of something my sister told me about, she works for a pediatrician......one of their patients was riding a bike with a stick in his hand, fell off landed on the stick which somehow went through his face/sinuses. After a few days in the hospital and antibiotics he went home.....they told the mother to watch him closely because they weren't entirely sure of the damage........ they said if he starts leaking fluid from the nose it would be imparative to get him to the er asap, that it would be brain related and possibly life threatening. So a few days later the lady calls the office and says, "yeah, my sons nose is dripping and has been for a day or 2 and won't stop...should I bring him in?" They were like, HELLO what part of life threatening don't you get.....we just pulled a stick out of his head a few days ago and told you to watch for leaks!!!!!!!!. Poor kid. I think all turned out well with him though.
I know way off topic, but the whole "hospital now" thing made me think of it & how some people don't get it.

How is Kaydee doing now??? Probably just a cold.........it is so hard to know when to bother with a dr. So many times they send you on your way with no "cure", just to wait it out............. too bad there is no easy fix for a cold.
I'm not sure why yellow is so bad, but if green is infection, then I assume yellow must be a well established infection. Then obviously the next step from a well established infection is blood poisoning, definately something you don't want to be facing.
