Default When is the right time?

Okay when is the appropriate time to tell a child their parents are divorcing? Skylar and Dominic are too young to know it, but Devin is 6 and he is fully aware of the tense conditions at home. Like when do you actually have the sit down and tell them? DH still lives here only because our schedules are so conflicted we never see eachother really, plus he just hasn't left yet.

And another thing, I have him now threatening me with "terminating his parental rights" I think just so he doesn't have to pay child support. He's looking at 1000 dollars a month by our state's pre-set equation, and I guess as opposed to actually HAVING to pay it he's trying to say he'll just terminate his rights! Can he do that just to get out of child support? It's ridiculous really... our kids have no longer become people they are "price tags" and it sickens me.
