When to announce your pregnancy
I am currently a little over 6 weeks pregnant and everything has been confirmed after my first visit. I have already heard the heartbeat so things are progressing perfectly. I am just curious of when is the right time to tell your family? I know some people like to stay quiet until 3 months and other like to announce after or around 2 months. Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated.

it's really up to you. my sister swears you should never tell before 12 weeks because you'll jinx the pregnancy? (yea, she's a little crazy). We told a select few right away (by "few" i mean our moms, siblings and 1 other person), then let the word spread from there. tell people when you're ready & you want everyone to know. some people think it's nice to have an "our little secret" glance every now again with your partner. personally, we just couldn't wait.

It up to you and DH when you wish to share.
We told about 6 weeks with DS#1 because it was Father's Day.
That was fun.
Some people like to wait and 'keep it a secret.' That's fine too.
Then, there were friends of ours pg with #__ and the mother was on the plus side, so nobody knew that she was expecting.
She called her MIL, "The water's broken and I need your help."
MIL thinks plumbing here, "Well, call the plumber's, dear"
Replying to her MIL, "No, the baby's coming now!"
MIL quickly calls her DIL's Mom," Your daughter says that the water is broken and she needs help!"
DIL's Mom, "Well, just have her call the plumber to fix the leak."
MIL asks the DIL's Mom, "Do you know your daughter & my son are having another baby?"
DIL's Mom, "We'll be right over!"
Don't wait that long.

That is crazy! I could never keep it a secret that long!
We told a few close friends when we found out, and I was 6 weeks. Then we told our parents.
And then I was going to tell one of my best friends at work~ I told her that I needed to talk to her later about something, and she blurted out "Are you pregnant??!!" well my face turned bright red, so the word was out there!
I definately say it is a personal choice though. There really is no right or wrong.

With my 1st PG we told everyone we know as soon as we got a BFP. Unfortunately, at 14 weeks I miscarried. The weeks that followed were very hard because of all the well wishers dropping by, the cards, etc. It made it much more difficult to deal with and move on. With PG #2 & #3 we waited to tell anyone (except our parents) until we were past 16 weeks.
This time we tried to wait but I seem to have popped out almost immediately. It was very hard to hide and DH was happier than a clam and couldn't keep his mouth shut!
I think it is a personal choice. Good luck and wishing you a happy, healthy PG!
