Arrow Where did you get your kids names from?

This may have already been asked and if so, I apologize! Anyway, Where did your children's names originate from? Any special meaning or long time favorite, etc?

Here is my breakdown.
I am Brandi Michelle
DH is Jeffery Earl

Twin1 - Jaylen Earl DH initials/Middle

Twin2 - Brycen Montana My initials (wanted middle to be Makale like rhymes with "The Pale"- but people pronounced it Michael)

3rd boy - Jordan Blake My mom passed away 1 week after I found out I was pregnant. Mom and I had already discussed with in days that I wanted a J or B name to stay with our theme. On her list for Girl and Boy J's was Jordan and then on the Boys list was Blake. I combined the 2 to get Jordan Blake. So he has our initials and a special naming from his Nanna - that he never got to meet but would have loved sooooo much!

Next child - "Not trying for one...just like the thought only!"
Boy - Braxton J ? initials and
Girl - BreAnn J ? initials and Ann was my moms middle

Anyway, love to know meanings. Hope you share!

1st: Noah Reilley
Noah came from the t.v. miniseries about Noah and the Ark starring Jon Voight and Mary Steenburgen, I also thought that it was a bit uncommon to use at that point in time; Reilley was just a name I had really liked to go with Noah. I found out later that he wasn't even the only Noah Brown born at that hospital that year.

2nd: Ridley Thomas
Ridley is the name of the lead character of the movie 'Dungeons & Dragons'; Thomas is a family name in my DH's family. Every generation for around 300 years has a Thomas in it. Be it a first or a middle name. My FIL is Thomas and my DH is Shaun Thomas.

3rd: Charles Elyas Daniel
Seemed to take me forever to realize I really wanted a Charlie. Elyas is just a name I had been throwing around since I was pregnant the 2nd time. Daniel was a bit of a last minute addition. A close friend's father passed away just 2 weeks before Charlie was born. The friend asked me if I had a boy if would I named him after the deceased. The late man's name was James Daniel.

4th: Gabriel Dean
DH hubby picked out Gabriel as his fave from our final list. Dean is after one of my late great-uncles. My MIL suggested we add my dad's first or middle name to it. His name is Fredy Lee~so no go. However, dad's Uncle Dean was his prominant father figure so we figured that would work. Still not sure how his full name sounds but if you drop the Brown it sounds great.

Had my boys been girls, here is how it would go:

1st: Abigail Elizabeth
Abigail because of my MIL being named Gail; Elizabeth because it's just a classic name.

2nd: Kaitlyn Marie
I wanted a little girl named Katie and much prefered Kaitlyn to any other alternative name in which Katie could be a nickname; Marie was my late grandmother's middle name.

3rd: Charlotte EmmaLee
Ditto for the Charlie thing; I've always liked the name Emma and Lee is my father's and my youngest sister's middle name: Besides this name has a romantic feel to it. (I think I may have read the works of the Bronte sisters too often.)

4th: ????????????
We didn't really make any final decision on this, but DH liked Vivienne best from our final list. I probably would have had Marie or Nichole added as a middle name. Marie for reason stated above and Nichole after my maiden name of Nichols.

DS is Joshua Neal.
Over a year before I got pg a friend's daughter (she was 7) met a little boy named Josh. She and her sister (then 11) started naming off all the Joshs that they knew. The 7yr. old then said "Josh (our last name)" I laughed and teased her about naming our kids for us. I went home & told DH the story. He said "Josh, Joshua, I like it". We decided then and there if we ever had a boy we'd name him Joshua.

My FIL is Jack Neil and my grandfather (deceased) was James Neale. We altered the spelling a little bit to Neal to be the same as both, but not exactly like either.

I love hearing these.

Riley Allen - we always loved the name Riley and it happens to be a combo of both our dad's name (Richard) and my dh's name (Bradley). Allen is my dh's middle name and his dad's middle name so we passed it on.

Naomi Elise - Fell in love with Naomi, when we came across it it just clicked. Elise after my mom and great gram, Elisa.

For the first names we just came up with something we liked, but for the middle names we used the names of our grandparents.

James Allen - named after his father (is also my grandfathers and nephews name)

Erin Elizabeth - DH wanted to name her Lizzy after his favorite grandmother. All I could think of was Lizzy Borden...so I "axed" that idea. I agreed on Elizabeth but we didn't want it as a first name. So we just started thinking of first names that sounded good with Elizabeth and Erin was the first we came up with.

Emma Rose - Emma was the only girl name we agreed on. We both wanted something old fashioned and since our other daughter's name started with an E...that is what we chose. Rose, well, we just liked it I guess!

We are thinking about Robert Adam. Robert happens to be both of our dad's names. And we love the name Adam.

DD #1---- Jaeclyn (prnounced Jay Slin) Rae
watched a lifetime movie and the girls name was Jacey...loved Jacey but didnt want that to be her full name, just a nickname, and I lvoe Jaylin, so i added the C, chenged the spelling and came up w/ Jaeclyn...so now she is Jaecy for short (her initials are also JC so t works well) Rae is just a cute nickname hehe

DD #2--Kaydee Maison
DH and BIL initials are KMC...if either were a girl FIL wanted them to be katie marie clark..KMC...asked if we would name DD 2 Katie marie...i wanted her name to be Maison, so i told him i would do Kaydee (i like original names) Maison, so she is still KMC

I love lifetime movies. Is this the one with the girl that gets pregnant in high school and gives the baby up for adoption? I think the girl's name was Jacey and the sister was kacey or something. I only remember because I cried so much from the movie that I got a migraine!

DD is Scarlet Analiese (pronounced ah-nah not anna). We wanted a regular but uncommon name. DF loves vintage crime novels, and Scarlet is a good film noir name. I liked it because it sounded mysterious. Analiese just sounded really pretty with it.
